N/A Swing and a miss...

Put a bid on a Diana 34 on an online auction site and missed the winning bid by less than 15 bucks. It was probably a good thing since I drew a couple special hunt permits and had to buy some tags I wasn't planning on buying quite yet. Dang, hunting is getting to be a rich man's sport. I about gagged when I saw how much an out of state elk and antelope tag was.

That’s a big part of why I focus on varmint species. Don’t need a permit or tag for collared doves, coyotes, jack rabbits, red fox, raccoons and squirrels in Utah.

You're financing the retirement of the ever expanding bureaucratic dynasties they've built.

Almost every state uses hunting and fishing license fees to finance wildlife conservation / management efforts they pursue, together with private donations and grants from various federal departments. The latter is rapidly disappearing, so unfortunately it's not likely that fees will decrease.

Never had either tbh hahaha… don’t mind a bit of cottontail though. Never heard much about the taste of antelope though. The rare comment I’ve heard has not been positive.
Growing up I ate a lot of antelope that was nasty. Had a buddy suggest I wear gloves and swap every time I touch fur before touching the meat. May have been a coincident but that antelope was finer fare than whitetail deer. My guess is the transfer of sage oil and/or scent glands imparts a nasty taste. Hoping to test my theories on a second speed goat this fall ; )
