SWFA Continues to Manufacture and Sell their SWFA Scopes! Good. 👍🏼

Here is what mac426 has to say on another forum, I'm quoting him, as he is quoting Wendy, a SWFA manager:

"So I asked SWFA if they were closing. This is the response I got. They said it was fine if I posted their response."

'SWFA, Inc. is a family owned and operated business, specializing in hunting and shooting related products since 1973. In the 1970's we had a single retail location, in the 1980's and 1990's we were a traveling company (roughly 110 gun shows per year), in the 2000's we transformed into a mail-order operation, in 2014 we went back to operating a retail store alongside of our mail order operation. We've always evolved with the market and technology.

During this timeline for SWFA, Inc., an unforeseen fork in the road occurred in 1994 when we acquired the exclusive rights to the "Super Sniper" riflescope line of optics. The line consisted of four models (10x42, 10x42M, 16x42 and 20x42). SWFA, Inc. had always treated the Super Sniper products as it did other product lines by offering them for sale as a retailer.

As years went by, we expanded the line to include a 6x42, 12x42, as well as scope rings and mounts. In 2010, we developed our patented Mil-Quad reticle to be an improvement over the standard USMC Mil-Dot reticle. Prior to marketing the new reticle concept, we officially took complete ownership of the "Super Sniper" line of scopes. The first thing we did was start our own branding by developing the logo and changing the name from "Super Sniper" to "SWFA-SS". We expanded the line further by introducing four new HD models (10x42HD, 1-4xHD 3-9xHD, 5-20xHD). As the SWFA-SS line of optics continued expanding, so did the need for resources to keep up with the growing SWFA-SS brand.

As of today, SWFA, Inc. is in the process of transitioning from being a retailer of many different brands, to solely being a manufacturer/retailer of our in house line of products in order to fully concentrate resources to the continued growth, expansion, and success of the SWFA-SS brand.

🔶 ➔ Well, that's good news I'd say, for those who have SWFA scopes, or like to buy one. 😊

I wonder if SWFA will create other lines of scopes?? I like some of their scopes but can see more modern improvements being adapted.

Still have a FFP 3-15. I kept it to have one to compare to newer scopes of the other companies and because it focuses down to 7Y on 15x so I can shoot inside my shop in the winter. Certainly pulls its weight and a decent scope. A lot of people like their fixed power scopes but I never warmed up to them after owning a 10x and a 16x.

I'm one of those people that likes the SWFA SS fixed power scopes. I've got a couple of the 20Xs and they're just a 100% dependable solid little scope. I've dialed the heck out of the turrets on all three and they track just like they should. They're not too expensive, not too big, not too heavy, and don't have any of the unnecessary features (read GIMMICKS) that so many other scope companies are guilty of including.

My one and only gripe is image quality. Clean that up (better glass) and they'd be just about the perfect general-use scope.

That's my #1 gripe too - IQ. But the fixed power scopes of 12x and lower have better IQ than the 3-15 at 15x. Of course the HD series do have nicer glass and people seem to like them a lot too.

I agree with the rest except no scope is 100% dependable but the failure rate is low. These do have a stellar record for tracking well which I think is their best attribute and I suppose another reason I kept mine.

Perry who is a friend that goes out to John's place was adjusting the side focus on his SWFA 3-15 and it broke off into his hand. I looked at it and didn't see any marks on the turret because I thought maybe it was dropped. He sent it back and they replaced it so that's good.
And also have read on SH forums of a fair number of SWFA scopes needing repair.

Not bad scopes at all but not quite what I prefer either.
