Surprising personal best accuraccy

I just recently acquired an HW 97k in .22 cal. I shot it with ok results with H&N FTT a little while I waited for my JSB test pack. I shot it less than 75 shots got the JSBs and decided to test which pellet were best. It was late in the day and I had already been shooting other guns for a while, I did not expect much, but wanted to see if there were any obvious standouts. I shot four groups of 5 each horizontally at 25 yards. I was mildly shocked and pleased that all the pellets were very accurate. The best was the exact jumbo heavy 18.1 grain at 5/16" ctc average. If not for the 'blown' group with the monsters that pellet was 5/16" average also.

I was pleased to find pellets that shot well with the gun but really surprised that I would get such accuracy with a 'new' gun and that it was accurate across all four pellets and 15 groups. I am not bragging just happy to have 'cracked' the springer rifle accuracy goal I had set for myself and that I see you others talking about - 15 of 16 groups under a dime. Yeah!

( The splatterburst targets make the groups look bigger than they are. I tried to be accurate. Even if I am off with measurements it's still my best 16 groups in a row.)

Nice, I know the feeling been shooting PCPs for years made the switch to springer's first of this wear. I've had more than a few springer's over the years none of which impressed me or I just couldn't shoot them. I built a HW35K and bought a Walther LGV master pro and forced myself to learn how to shoot a springer. Not hard to do if the gun shoots good to start with. I Couldn't be happier with my springers as long as we both do our part. Looks like you got a keeper, good shootin.
