Suppressor Quick Disconnect!...

Why not multi-start threads? Then it wouldn't take many turns to remove a moderator. An example of a multi-start thread is on a plastic container, like a milk jug or a Luer lock for a hypo needle. It only takes a small bit of rotation to remove. As an example, a four start thread that would look a lot like 1/2-20 would take 1/4 the rotations to tighten or remove. Downside is making them on a lathe, as the pitch is four times bigger. So that would be a 5TPI pitch, with a thread depth of 20TPI pitch. https://www.harveyperformance.com/in-the-loupe/multi-start-thread-guide/

Poi shift is a common justification for qd mods. I own a qd and a few scew on mods. Personally I haven't noticed any poi shift. I'd say qd is more of a cool factor then anything.
I've seen POI shift in powder burners, but my guess is that you'd get another, different, POI shift by moving the mass of the can to the side of the barrel. The device in the OP's video seems pretty pointless, except for those who need just one more gadget to add to their 'gun', because their quad pic rails are already full of can openers and vegetable peelers.

GsT

Edit: enhancing the hyperbole so it's (hopefully) recognized as tongue-in-cheek.

Lol I personally would not add a side folding can on a rig. It's either on or off for me. But adding a vegetable Peeler? Think I need one in my life now. Haha

Great solution for a non-existent problem.

I do need to take off my moderator when I put some of my guns into the case so a QD would be appealing in concept. However the moderator needs very tight tolerance in order for the moderator to have correct alignment so it won't clip especially with tighter bore diameter and longer moderator. In the end not sure if making an ultra high precision foldable moderator is worth the cost of simply twisting on a regular moderator. I'm not even a fan of Donny's new QD moderator.
