superior standards vs heavy ?

hello everyone 

superior liners are available now but 

it’s superior and vague 

no extra info regarding the difference between standard and heavy except heavy for heavy slug and pellets, standard for lighter ones 

so for .22 and .25 cal when could we say its heavy or light weight?

.22 maybe 25gr or more and .25 35gr or more. Just a guess.

Very little information indeed! I want to know the twist rate difference also, I assume heavy will have higher twist rate similar to the old slug liner which only worked well with heavier slugs. Given I want to shoot the lightest slugs possible I think standard superior liner would work out better for me BUT I’m not targeting 1000fps so wonder if at slower speeds if superior liner could work better on lighter slugs and pellets.

Would also be nice if they had visual indicators on what you were buying other than a sticker, like a liner stamp or engraving.

qball, with my 500mm superior in .22 I have shot NSA 17.5 gr, 20.2 gr, 23 gr and JSB Knockout's 25.4 gr anywhere from 750 to 950 with great results. Also every pellet I've tried.

The superior liner does seem to be superior. Just need info on twist rate which will help figure out use case. So far I’M Happy with standard so probably will leave it as it is.

I think the standard is 1/23, heavy is 1/18 but that may have been .25 cal

My Fx Superior STX Heavy liner in .22 is 1/18 twist. A LOT tighter bore. REALLY had to work to get a patchworm through for intitial cleaning. Tighter groups using 25g JSB Monster RDs compared to pellet A or slug A liners. Slower muzzle velocity(about 40 fps) tho.

Probably true but they did publish the numbers before so they probably just trying to keep up with production since they are sold out everywhere. At the end of the day those of us who likes to tinker will likely to buy all the liners to try regardless, would of been nice to know the specifics though.

My thinking with the Superior Heavy would be for any slugs heavier than the FX hybrid slugs in that cal.

700mm SSTX Heavy shoots 17g NSA (216 & 217), FX hybrids, and 23g NSA (218) slugs fine out of my FX Crown. 2", 1.75", 1.75", and 1.25"(respectively) ctc ten shot groups at 100 yards in light wind and rain.
