I have the manufacturer made sun shades for both scopes but looking for light weight alternatives. Anyone know a source or someone who can make light weight alternatives?

You can. Hobby Lobby or Michael's makes a foam like product in sheets. It is about 1/16in thick. Cut to side, glue the ends together, slip it on. Or just bend it over the scope and use black tape to hold it on. It is about $1 for a 12 x 12 sheet. Can be used for an eye shade as well.

Go FLAT BLACK spray paint both sides of a piece of cardboard like junk mail vote for me solicitation wrap around your front bell tape secure. CRUDE BUT You won't get anything lighter than that.

Oh and go thank that candidate that you made good use of his JUNK MAILOUT when you see him at HIS FREE HOT DOGS (or whatever cheap CRAP food his mailer invited you to) event and you now have a much more comfortable view of things because of it.
