Results Sunnyvale N50 match results for 9/19

Had a pathetic showing of 3 shooters today. I am jealous of Meeker and other clubs that get a dozen or more attendees for every match. Maybe it is being in a more gun friendly area that is the difference. Anyway we had our typical conditions with a lot of constant switches and uppy/downey bouncing it’s heart out on target #3.

Great shooting, as usual Dana, with your Thomas rifle. Sorry you are not getting great attendance but keep at it. Build it and they will come.

How many members do you have at your club? Can you get a list of all members and then send them an email inviting them to your matches? I have 80+ on my current N50 email list and only get a fraction of them attending our matches. I have added a note at the bottom that if they no longer wish to receive my emails to let me know but I have never had anyone respond to that. Some have showed up at our matches and they have found out about them through word of mouth from other club members on my email list who don't attend our matches. Our club secretary sends out a monthly email to all our club members and they also get match updates from her too. Some have shown up as a result of her emails too.

We have 450 members. Large percentage are trap shooters. Then there are bullseye pistol, action pistol, silhouette rimfire, cowboy action and now the big one NRL22. The NRL show up one match and never come back because suddenly they realize there killer NRL gun is not good enough to shoot precision benchrest. I have been running BR at the club for 16 years. Many as an ARA club when we had good attendence. Same reason extreme benchrest and NRL are now the popular events as they attract the young shooters.
