Suggestions for .177 Slugs for Fx Royale?

Does anyone have any suggestions for the type of .177 slugs to use with a stock FX Royale? I’m looking to stretch the distance and reach out with my .177. I started out with Nielsen slugs but not really getting results I want. Any help will be appreciated )))

Nielsen would have been my recommendation. They shoot very well in several of my PCP's as well as in the Diana 460.

The Royale has the original smooth twist barrel and isn't going to like any kind of slug.

Still a very fine rifle.

I’m guessing it’s worth a try. I do like shooting .177 tough.

if your rifle is an Older one with the LW barrel ? ..... NSA 12.5 .178"

has a ST barrel forget it ... They don't like slugs as stated above.

As stated, because of the design of Smooth Twist barrels (not rifled the full length of the barrel) the Royale & Boss models (all calibers) WILL NOT shoot slugs with any kind of accuracy. Don't waste your $ buying slugs to try. I'm speaking from personal experience. These guns were designed around JSB pellets & don't have the ability to shoot slugs unless modified with a different barrel. That being said the Royale/Boss platform is probably the most accurate PELLET rifles ever made.

I was wondering if the Royale .177 would shoot slugs as well... disappointing that they dont!

I can tell you though that the 10.5 Jsb shooting on high power (975 FPS) is extremely accurate out to 100 and can be stretched to 125. I don’t know shot count but I’m guessing it’s over 125.

Yeah, it probably won't do well with slugs. But, it's still the best platform FX has ever made, IMO. I have a Royale 400 in .22 and, except for replacing the reg, it's been perfect from day one, something I can't say about many other FX rifles. And that solid, ST barrel may not shoot slugs, but it virtually never needs cleaning, I consider that a fair trade-off.
