SUB 12 Foot Pounds pesting! WARNING hunting videos!

Odoyle, thanks for those vids — they are impressive! 😜

In the course of merely 10 minutes we get to witness no less than 200 killings! 😱

Just about every three seconds — the rhythm of death 💀

A lot of hunting/pesting videos are pretty slow — these keep the pace and sometimes kick it up a notch!

Way to jumpstart a Saturday morning, Odoyle! Nice!

I'm new here and even I can see this 👆👆👆!

Its interesting that 3 things went hand in hand with us English vermin shooters..

First, being limited to 12 ftlbs and 6ftlbs for pistols, we had to make shot placement a more critical part of our shooting, ironically tuning our guns down from the 12 ftlbs allowed. No, we had not gone nuts. We simply found that the limiting factor of 12 ftlbs made shot placement so much more important, but the happiest place for the most accuracy was at about 10.6ftlbs. At this power, they can be set less compressed, using a lighter weight piston mass and having a less stressed mainspring, which all adds up to much better accuracy. With PCP stuff, we found an optimum accuracy for pellets when the gun is set at 11ftlbs, the pellets most stable at approx 850 fps and minimal muzzle flip. English vermin hunters then limit their range to 35 yards, or so.

I said 3 things. The 3rd thing is the Grey Squirrel. We never had any. Introduced by mistake from the US back in the 60s they bred like crazy and started destroying forestry. Millions of them. It was because of our English Oak trees. The perfect tree for your Grey Squirrels. (Nest building and the Acorn food supply) Quite tough critters to kill unless hit correctly just to the rear and low of the ear....One of the main reasons for driving the above choices when setting up our guns. Of course we can have more power on FAC if you are a land owner, or registered pest controller but most found they did not require it enough to bother sorting the paperwork.

That is right....they decimated the Red Squirrel which was a low ground foraging critter and didn't wreck the trees....

The problem was so bad in the late 70s that a bounty was put on them....We have a Pine Martin, which kills and eats them, its protected by law, but has not made even the slightest dent in their numbers as it is a very low breeding animal, being very reclusive and far ranging.

Same reason I like this guy. Wonder if he is on here/AGN but same fireworks like pace, great videos and sub 12fpe too boot too! Love it!

I actually just ordered a 177 dream-tac compact last night, god know when that will actually get to my hands though. Fortunately my 1720will keep me entertained in the main time and it’s raining cats and dogs outside anyways.
