Stud Magazine Loader Review

Just received mine yesterday and tried it out. It's freaking amazing. Makes it super simple to load my impact mags and with the spare loaders, I have another 4 mags worth of pellets ready to drop in. I was hesitant to buy based on the price, but I have zero regret.

I have nothing to do with Stud and bought the product with my own money.

As someone with a .35 cal brand new ish FX Impact, I got myself a Stud loader. Looked to be great quality. However when I read the instructions it told me I had to move my barrel forward. Didn't love that this wasn't disclosed to me sooner. However I did indeed move the barrel forward a bit. This however made the gun much louder and the velocities dipped. After thinking about it I realized I had moved the air transfer port on my barrel. So it wasn't syncing perfectly anymore and was venting some air out the back. This is no good. If this isn't a problem for other guns it looks like a great product. However I would not recomend for a .35 cal impact with the heavy slug liner.

Good point. I actually haven't even tried the Stud magazine yet, but for loading factory or other compatible mags, it's amazing. Also, the need to move the barrel forward is dependent on your setup and on how much of the barrel protrudes into the breach area.

ETA: Just to clarify, it is only the Stud magazine that potentially requires moving the barrel. The rest of the kit works completely independent of the rifle itself and simply speed loads magazines.

I have loved them for both my Impact and Crown. Great help at a fraction of the cost of the mags

Dang. That sucks. I wasn’t required to do that with smaller calibers.

Oh? you can use the speed loaders on FX magazines? Cool! Unfortunately they don't have speed loaders for .35 cal. I feel sometimes like the .35 cal FX impact is the red headed step child. I have no idea why. To me it's an incredibly versatile tool when you have the right internals and ammunition you can use it in a larger backyard at around 90 decibles for tree rats or even night shooting coyotes and racoons (I shoot in my upstairs office down the hall from my sleeping wife and she doesn't hear a thing). Then you can throw in a tungsten hammer and use some Neilsen 125-150 grain slugs to down a dear relatively easily. Great all around gun so far. Would love to use these stud magazines. As I said, I have one. They are like greesed lightning. IDK what type of material they use. It seems to self lubricate. Just doesn't work well in a .35 cal impact for anyone who has one.
