Streamline vs Dreamline: “ROUND 1 FIGHT!”

Hello AirgunNation Peoples,

Not really a fight. Just a beautiful day in Texas, filled with airgun shooting aka playtime, at the range comparing my FX Streamline (.22) to it’s predecessor the FX Dreamline (Bullpup .22). I’ll be comparing them using JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13 grain and JSB Redesigned Monsters 25.39 grain pellets. Categories include a chronograph test on full power using each of the above pellet, and shot grouping at 25, 50, and 100 yards. Including photos!

To the battle lines:

What a drop-dead gorgeous day at the range! Couldn’t believe I was the only shooter there that day, had the place all to myself! That was pretty sweet!! All except for that 10 to 15 mph gusty breeze it was almost perfect!

Age before beauty the Streamline had first crack over the chronograph let’s see if this three year old rifle can still hang with her bells and whistles having baby brother the Dreamline?

The far left target was used for the chronograph tests and for a sight in / zero check at 25 yards. Now, on to some no BS 10 shot group shooting with each airgun and each pellet @ 25 yards. Streamline groups circled in yellow, the Dreamline groups are circled in red.

This magazine circled below was culled aka chunked in the trash! Ruined one of my groups with the Streamline so, to eliminate that issue again all remaining groups were shot with single shot trays in both airguns.

That pesky and gusty wind picked up while shooting the 100 yard groups and pushed everything to the right at random. Not a great long range shooter past about 75 yards and actually don’t attempt those shots when hunting. Just checking out how the guns compared at long range. Also, only JSB 18.13’s were used on the 100 yard test because the wind sort of killed the whole thing anyhow.

Conclusion, well they both are very consistent and accurate enough to suit my needs of critter bashing and a little target sniping at reasonable distances (wind conditions pending) for an average shooter like myself. The Dreamline is the new kid on the block that will give owners a lot of options down the road. The Streamline is a excellent rifle to own as well, and it isn’t leaving my gun cabinet anytime soon. As far as the Dreamline, the plan is to enjoy it as is, until the “Dreamline Bullpup Bottle LEGO Pieces” become available. 😁

Whoops 😬! Look what FedEX left on my porch when I got back home! 19 grain (.22 cal), 23 grain (.22 cal), and 34 grain (.25 cal) Nielson Slugs! I already have my (.22 cal) 500mm slug liner and my (.25 cal) 600mm slug liner! Guess the next thread post will be a Dreamline vs Crown “Slug-Fest”!! Stay tuned?

nice! Not sure what you mean by “ bad mag”, but fyi they can be tuned just like the guns. I adjust spring tension as soon as i get them. Ernest has a good video out on it.

Look at all the other 25 yard 10 shot groups, shot with the Streamline and Dreamline using different magazines? Hole in hole, but when I shoot with that one???? The magazine consistently shoots groups like this 👇🏽 (Yellow circle), that one has been giving me trouble. “Bad Mag” It is the original (11 shot) magazine shipped with my Streamline 2016 three years ago. Seen the video by Ernest thanks! Not worth the effort, have purchased several spares since then (14 shot capacity FX Royal .22 magazines), won’t miss it. On the other hand, I still have it. Maybe one day I’ll tinker with it?

That’s awesome JoeKool! You have a nice set of pea shooters there and what a fantastic day at the range other than the winds. I’m surprised that the SL isn’t a more popular gun but with a lot of people going for the pups, the SL seems like a loooong rifle. I shoot rested mainly so the length isn’t so much of a factor for me but I DO prefer compact rifles over long ones just for handling sake.

Thanks for all of the pictures. I love write ups with pictures. I’m a visual kinda guy. I look at the pictures first then read the captions.
