With great help and much appreciation from a forum member on here named Chuck, I have my .25 Streamline shooting JSB 34gn pellets at 900fps. The best thing about it though is the accuracy. At 50yds it is pellet on pellet. After a month or so of having the setup it is spot on and ready to shoot every time I pull it out of the case. I’m confident that every time I pull that trigger my pellets are going exactly where I am aiming.

This is the type of accuracy I am talking about.. I went a week ago to the local range and had a blast.

Thanks to Chuck I was able to put a Huma regulator in the gun, set it to 160bar, get the hammer spring adjustment turned in until I reached desired muzzle velocity and bam I was shooting these numbers(there’s a whole day spent getting it all tuned to perfection but it’s worth it). Chuck is shooting his guns a little faster than mine, today I saw his wildcat pushing these JSB’s over 920fps and dead accurate at 50yd. On my rifle I did not need a heavier hammer weight I’m using the stock weight. I just had to adjust the hammer spring. I also can fill to 300bar now and get 38 full power shots until I fall off the reg.

That’s great shooting! Congratulations on a fantastic rifle!

i recently purchased a .22 SL. It’s amazinly accurate also at 50 yards. That’s 55 shots at 50 yards with 18.1 JSBs. I started top left and shot down then up the the next row then down...... the groups got tighter as I shot and settled down. The two largest groups, still fit under that dime. I am so pleased.

My rifle is bone stock. I never even cleaned the barrel. I’m afraid to since it’s shooting so well! Ha ha ha!

Controversial for sure. 

My shot count went down from 50 to 30 when I increased power to 55 ft.lbs. (150 bar on the regulator)

But I don't feel safe going higher than 230 bar on the air cylinder even though it says that it's been tested at a higher pressure.

I might be able to regain that original shot count by increasing fill pressure, but
I'll just deal with the lower shot count and fill the tank more frequently.

What’s the concern? The tube is rated to 320bar. The only reason I see this gun shouldn’t be filled pst 230bar stock is because the regulator and gauge can’t handle the pressure, the gauge cracks or implodes and the regulator is a poor design and fails to work under the higher pressure. Once replaced with better parts there was no more failures and the regulator is extremely consistent. The tubes have to be safety rated to at least twice the recommended pressure if not more so I’m not worried about the tube giving out. If anything were to fail it would probably be an o ring and that wouldn’t be an extreme explosive event(I have had main neck o rings blow out on brand new large AV tanks at 4500 psi and nothing happened other than noise and constant flow of air for 15 minutes). The only times such explosions have been recorded is when people were filling with oxygen and other gases that are not recommended for pcp rifles. Others have been doing the same once the correct parts are replaced on this platform and similar platforms with no issue. I can get 38 full power shots now. I have seen first hand 40+ shots on this platform(not my rifle) with the same setup.

The tube is rated up to 230 bar and tested up to 320 bar, that's something different than rated up to 320 bar. That safety rating is there to accommodate for the wear over time. The test pressure is to check if the walls of the tube remain within it's maximum expansion limit under higher pressure. By over stressing the walls (applying overpressure) for a longer time the wear increases which means the tube will fail earlier. It might not explode but the screwing threads might strip off which can lead to fails/leaks.

If I have an aluminum 232 bar rated SCBA bottle and put a 300 bar valve on it it doesn't mean that the SCBA tank is suddenly 300 bar rated. Those safety limits aren't there for fun...
You’re allowed to do this at your own risk but it would be nice to inform the person next to you on the shooting range that your using it outside of the safety limits, at least I would like to know it at that situation so that I can pack my stuff and move to a different place at the range.


Regarding the accuracy of your streamline, it is right there where it should be, good luck with it :)

Probably not. My Cricket rifle is rated at 300 bar but the regulator is not efficient at this pressure. I only get about 7 shots from 300 bar down to 250 bar so I never fill over 250 anymore.

I have to agree with the rest here. Filling to 300 bar is not very wise.
Playing with safety margins is just not done, they are there for a reason.

"I'm running "V" type, 240 kmh tyres on my Corvette, and never had a rupture at 300 kmh..... " or "I always hoist 1 tonne objects with a 0.5 tonne rated sling"........ You get the point.
I'm not saying something WILL happen, but it is better to not find out.

Send FX a mail with your setup, I think they will get slightly nervous.
If I may give you some well meant advice, keep the pressure down to the rated pressure on the tank. If you think your shotcount is too low..... you have bought the wrong gun ;)

b.t.w. a FX reg can handle 300 bar as well, but like black diesel said, it is useless because it is getting inefficient with air at that pressure.
