How do YOU know what is in the FedEx truck?

What does the gender of the driver and co-driver have to do with your packages delivery?

Are you on a exclusive agreement with the shipping companies?

Merry Christmas and try to see your world problems from a less confrontational footing. It ain't all about you, or me.

Why be an ass to him when he just described what happened? He expected a delivery and the carrier sent a truck to his house without delivering. You're not helping so why bother him.

Agree. I posted recently about a somewhat similar incident with UPS. Driver (male but what difference does it make) drives in and parks. I walk to side door and look in watching him search for package at left rear of the truck. After about 30 seconds I tell him I can see what is probably the package (had OPTICSPLANET in big blue letters on it) at the left front of the truck on a shelf. Seems all shippers may be having issues, not only with drivers but with the loaders as well. Still, it got here so I guess that's good.

Easy to throw rocks at FedEx. He bashes FedEx for not knowing what is on their own trucks, yet how the 🤬 does he think he knows what is on THAT one truck, much less the 100's of other FedEx and contractor trucks running all over his area?

Too easy to throw bombs from a position of ignorance. Throws insults at the gender of the drivers and the execution of their jobs...which he has zero experience performing. FTR It is very common to stop on the side of the road and shuffle package load, yet somehow it is an insult to the OP that his package did not magically appear out of thin air because he wants it to.

I try helping him to see that the world is a LOT bigger than toy guns.

The truck came onto his property and he had a reasonable expectation of his package being delivered. Fedex employs most of it's delivery personnel as part time, has a high turnover rate and their drivers make far more mistakes than other carriers in the USA. I deal with all the carriers regularly and fedex screws up way more than others. My driveway is wide enough to drive two fedex delivery trucks in side by side with room to spare and opens up to an area with plenty of room for the truck to make a u-turn yet fedex drivers regularly drive into the middle of my front lawn and also miss my driveway by half a truck width on exit causing them to spin the tires in the grass and dig ruts. I hold a class A drivers license and have driven just about everything that moves so I'm qualified to judge driving ability.

Hey guys I may be of some help in clarifying the situation. I worked as delivery driver for many years. When the loaders load trucks ( Especially during the holidays ) they tend to be quite overwhelmed with packages. They stuff boxes in every nook and cranny they can find to get the packages out for delivery. So when a van or truck stops out front and does not deliver a package to your address, they may be doing a handful of different things. many times they are staging and rearranging the next stops in your area. They have a manifest in their diad, device, or manifest of their stops. That does not mean that they know where the packages are on the truck. Trust me, they want to deliver your stuff to you. Now just because you are expecting a delivery that day, doesn’t mean it was loaded on that delivery vehicle. Routes sometimes cross, and they are shuffling stops off of heavy trucks to lighter ones all day long. I hope this helps a bit.

Aloha,

I just last night had a fedex truck pull up in front of my house, the girl (not my normal fedex driver) looked lost, she was looking for an address 3 houses down from me. I know that with the temporary hires they are not familiar with our street address. Maybe that's what happened to the OP, the lady's thought they had the correct address and after realizing they drove off.

I do know that the usps, ups, & fedex deliveries has been a little messed up with the covid here in the islands. My usps driver said that they are short staffed that's why he comes to my house later than normal.

Aloha, Keone

If you ship products for profits and you dispatch trucks to deliver those products, that cost money.delivery with out those products, well that is just joy riding.defending incompetence in a AMERICAN,is that the new normal?. Per the D.O.T. all items shipped by rail, road or air must be manifested on each delivery methods used to transport..HASMAT if you are familiar with D.O.T regs.how about the dispatch that sent that truck 70 miles out in the country, for just a ride.I live in rural North Texas,it takes 40 miles of driving just to get to nowhere,HA HA. I'm happy and proud to see women making ways in a mostly men controlled world.i'am a dad of 2 daughters.well any way FedEx will be back when they get it together.2 women on the 1 van, maybe a new trainee driver?they are trying to ramp up,for COVID-19 mod's they are about to start delivering.still waiting thought,SANTA has some presents to deliver.how would it look for SANTA to show up ,unpack his sack...load it all back up and leave.you got nothing.come on FEDEX.MERRY CHRISTMAS , Michael, out.

I've had similar issues in the past, pre-COVID. It's my understanding that the loading crew shows the package as loaded and on the manifest for delivery. The system is updated to indicate a delivery in progress, and the truck shows up. The package cannot be found and the drivers/delivery crew look through everything unable to locate the package. Surely the loading crew loaded it, they drove up to deliver it. They head back without a delivery, status changes to "attempting to locate package" or similar, and the fun ensues.

One of the problems with FedEx ground is that they do not load front to back, back delivery first. It's just a chunk the packages in and the drivers have to sort through them, at least with my driver. Had a replacement wedding ring for my wife (child ended up throwing her first one into the trash) end up with the exact scenario you described above and the driver tore the truck apart looking for it.

It's not often this happens but I mostly feel bad for the drivers. It's annoying but it's hard to blame them unless they've loaded the truck. With all the chaos going on in today's world, and amplified during holiday increaseed shipping, and the stresses we're all under we should remember to treat others like we wish to be treated :)

, and the stresses we're all under we should remember to treat others like we wish to be treated :)

Yet, remind a guy of that and get called an ass. Wow.

I don't care if you live 70 miles from the distribution center or not. You cannot read another person's mind. Nor can we read your mind. All we know is what you wrote in the first post, and that is not complimentary.

I have run packages as a seasonal guy (UPS) It is honest and tough work in conditions that most people would not be able to handle for a day, much less 3+ months. You would think people would be happy to get their stuff, but there are a majority who think the world should revolve around their butt.

May you receive the same treatment like you give. Truly a first world problem.

Most people dont know how it is to be a driver for FedEx is ground. I drove for FedEx ground for three months and it was the worst job I have ever did. If fedex ground is still the same as how it was when I worked there, I feel sorry for the drivers.

All the drivers who work for FedEx ground are actually not FedEx employees but are called "contractors ." A person can bid on an area and if their bit is excepted by fedex, the person, now called a contractor, is in charge of delivery packages in that area. That contractor is paid a lump amount of money which he uses to either rent a fedex vehicle or rent from another place. Said contractor can try to run the route himself or he will have to hire another driver. If the contractor hires someone, some contractors can be generous and pay them good or most will pay them just enough to so they don't quit. I've seen some contractors will not pay their drivers uniforms until corporate makes them. Contractors are responsible to pay for insurance, gas, and damages.

From what I saw, most of the workers at ground are paid salary. They get paid the same amount if they work 8 hours or 26 hours. Working less then 8 hours was frowned upon. That said, give the drivers a little break especially during the holidays

Check this out,I ordered some things,Dec.5 from Lightinthebox, company in China...I got them delivered to my house yesterday,Dec10!!!!!!!!

DHL all the way, from China to my house, that is truly amazing..plus they keep me informed all along the way....

Properly easy for them because they pack the DHL planes with only their stuff and DHL is the only carrier invilved.

I have ordered other things from China, it usually takes 10 to 14 days, except my Discovery scope that took months.

5 days from China to my house in CA....wow...

Yes indeed a lot of people are getting short, tired of all the things that have been happening,we are ALL going through it.

Be nice and polite,it is not that hard to do,I know you may have to catch yourself, just remember Santa is watching you and he knows if you are bad or good.

Thank you for your service and sharing your experience with us.

I hear too many complaints (and have read multiple threads) about couriers lately and it does get irritating.

Not too many nights ago, there was a UPS delivering stuff at 10 pm right in my neighborhood; I gave the driver a wave and a "thumbs up."

And about a month and a half ago I chanced upon USPS delivering his share of goods at 8:30 pm whilst it was snowing heavily even my car had a hard time maneuvering.

Yes, I have had my share of delayed orders, even a lost one (but replaced by the indomitable Crosman), so I try to keep my cool.

I do DoorDash as my sideline and try my best to deliver orders the soonest time possible but there are foibles that I encounter; i.e., meals not yet done, long queues, traffic, etc.

Some couriers now do a tandem, which means that they are doing their best to expedite delivery.

Remember that some delivery guys are new to the game and are still trying get the hang of it.

My gun has been sitting in Sparks NV FedEx depot for 3 days. Boohoo. Been waiting 6 months for the gun now it’s stalled out in the United States. Funny how an order from Krale gets to my door in 3 or 4 days. Ordered some stuff for my dirt bike from Austria, less than a week. It is really amazing. You would think that US dealers would have a better option to ship a $3,000 gun.
