Scared to use my heat gun for fear of damaging fill port which is only an inch away from base of moderator,what do you guys think of cutting off the moderator lengthwise with a dremel cutting disc, I desperately want to install a Hatsan air stripper? Gun is already too loud for backyard use, so what do I have to lose. Please Advise!

This is a picture of my varmint air max. Yours does not have a set screw on the bottom of the muzzle break?
I thought the storm rider was a copy of the varmint air max.
And the schematic shows one.

as for the heat, shoot the gun empty and you should be fine.

Screw is epoxied in by manufacturer, waiting specific 2mm wrench to show up.

Take your allen wrench and heat it up until it is glowing
red hot and place it in the screw head and let the heat
transfer into it and then try to loosen it , the heat should
melt the glue or epoxy . Good luck

D-RIG, tried that heating the wrench till red-hot, just turned them into corkscrews...thanks though

Maybe I should if been more specific in regards to the heating of the allen wrench
Heat the allen wrench red hot then transfer the heat and then pull that wrench out
and set aside and get another one that has not been heated and use that one to
remove the grub screw .

Dremel - cut the piece of worthless crap off. The TKO will quiet it down, not mouse fat quiet but better than what is on it
your barrel is not threaded and the Hatsan air stripper is threaded, they don't mix and the stripper does reduce the noise level at all
the end of the barrel has a reduced diameter of 10 mm. the barrel is 12 mm, and there is a groove around the barrel under the set screw
so it will not just slid off
the barrel is inserted about an 1-1/2" into the piece of junk
