Stock care and/or wood care

I am following the current thread about the Daystate Huntsman search and it encouraged me to get mine out. I have not looked at it since the last hunt my son and I took, in late November 2022. The wood on my rifle looked dry. I treated it with Scherell's Schaftol Light, which brought the lustre back.

I always have a difficult time finding Scherell's in the US, so I thought, "what are others using to protect the fine wood on their air rifles?" I searched this board and could find nothing related. Perhaps there is something, and I missed the key words? Who knows?

What are you using to care for the wood stocks on your air rifles/pistols? Do you have any suggestions that might help others?

Is this what you are looking for? I normally just wipe my guns down with Ballistol after barrel cleaning: lock, stock & barrel.

Depends on the stock. Not all finishes are the same. I prefer a matte look so I’ve been using Watco teak oil recommended by BoG on my oiled stocks. Works great.

I use Mahoney's on my stocks. Works on all wood. Food grade so can also use on kitchen items as well.

I usually will put two coats of it on the stock. The first one usually gets sucked into the stock over night. The second coat will slowly get sucked in and any excess I rub off. Really makes a stock look nice.

I use Renaissance Wax on the wood and metal. Museums use it’s easy to use and a little goes a long way

Johnson's Paste Wax and Briwax are good products too.
