STO Big Bore moderators

My experience with STO in .22 and .25 is amazing, I know the more flow the better. I’m sure if they made them for big bore, they work! Hopefully someone has tried one, but you might have to let us know!
I sent them a message to see what they would recommend. Ill pick 1 up and compare it to my donnyfl variants.

After reading this post I visited their site and was pleasantly surprised to see some experimental bIg-bore moderators for sale. I’m watching these with interest. I recall that they didn’t use to make moderators beyond .30 caliber.
They recommended the mus2 for my 45 texan. I placed my order this morning. We will see how it does 🤞. Says experimental so hoping if it doesn't do well i can get some more internals as they develop them.

Almost the same size. Ill be testing these head to head in the next few days. Ill report back with what my ears think. Test gun will be 24" barrel 45 texan.

Im as curious as you guys are. The Ronin does a decent job. I use one on my 257 texan and its pretty quiet for 180fpe. The ronin also works well on my 34" barrel texan 45. Ill try them on both texans most likely.

Not sure if barrel length will make a difference if they are roughly the same fpe. My goal isn't absolutely silence, I just dont want to feel the need to wear hearing protection when I shoot. I say this, but I ordered a witt machine muzzle brake for the texan as well. So I will be comparing noise level and accuracy of both moderators and a muzzle brake(still waiting on it to arrive).

I'm glad that STO has started rolling these things out. I had contacted them years ago about doing something for the big bore 357. FYI, the barrel's thread size on the Rattler 357 is M14-1 and thread size on a Challener 457 is M18-1.
