Ok, the cat is out of the box! Steyr Pro X Scout, .177 24joule. Ordered with OEM Steyr «LDC», picatinny rail, some extra mags. Looks to be a good fit for my LBT backpack.

All set up and ready for the weekend! Shot a couple of magazines in the garage, first impression is great! The gun is very well balanced and shoulders incredibly good, the DonnyFL Tatsu does an adequate job quieting it down.

Those curves and contours look great! I bet it's very comfortable to shoot. I wonder how many shots you'll have with it + the bottle?

it may sound very unpolite to you but at that price range i would expect some better wood. it looks very boring to me - at least just on the pictures.
on my H5A i did not liked to wood too BUT it was the most comfortable rifle to shoot with!!!

Not that it really matters to me, but I fully agree about the boring walnut. It’s a little better than in the pictures but still very plain. This is my 6th Steyr and my third one with a walnut stock and every one of them came with mediocre wood.
More important than the wood grain (or lack off it) is accuracy and reliability. After 1000s of rounds with first a H5A and then a H5A Scout I don’t think it will disappoint there.

I like my H5A Scout so much I'm thinking of picking one of these up. How does the shot to shot consistency compare with the H5A? I like the stubby biathalon cocking lever and am glad they reduced it's size. I initially really disliked the look of the gun but it is growning on me.
