Steyr Steyr LP 5

I have an FWB c5 that did the same thing. Buck at Top of the Rock Airguns and Repairs, sorted it out for me. I would suggest giving him a call. I am sure he will be able to get it right. Mine actually went full auto before I sent it in, quite a shock when it did too.

Before you send it away for service/repair, there's three things you can do:

1. Check muzzle velocity. It should be around 135ms (~445fps) with 0,53g (8,2gr) pellets. If significantly lower than this (115ms or lower), the hammer spring might be worn and/or the regulator might need a service/adjustments. Servicing/adjusting the regulator is nothing you can do without propper tools, but that might be why it doesn't cycle reliably.

2. Make trigger adjustment according to Steyr procedure:

3. Check that the housing screw and the hammer spring screw are set correctly:
--a. The housing screw (red arrow on picture below) should be one turn out from flush, if this screw is screwed in too far the striker can't move long enough backwards for the mechanism to cycle properly.
--b. The hammer spring screw (in center of the housing screw) should be flush or up to one turn out from the housing screw. If this screw protrudes within the surface of the housing screw and the muzzle velocity is low, this is usually a sign that the hammer spring is worn.
