TLDR: I have an LG110 FT (built around 2016) and an LG100 (2002). Am i able to move the mechanical "unit" from the LG110 into the chassis on the LG100? Intended use is for field target.
The LG110 i've owned for about 8 years, it's a shooter. It gets single digit on the fps spread and is always accurate as long as you clean every 100 shots or so. It has the externally adjustable hammer spring. At 10 yards it's a true one holer, off bags, as you would expect. The only thing i don't like about the 110 is that is difficult to shoot in the standing position because it is so forward heavy.
The LG100 from what i've been told by the previous owner, started out as a 10m rifle, so it had to get tuned to 12fpe for FT. It's currently shooting around 10.3 fpe, but the fps spread is rather dismal for a Steyr, at 25 fps. It makes an awful ping when fired. I've only had the rifle a couple days and have put around 100 pellets through it. It will also do one hole groups at 10 yards, but it's a bigger hole. The cocking lever feels really stiff when you cock the rifle, but then annoyingly the bolt will slide forward if you tip the rifle down to load a pellet (when standing). There's oil seeping out of the side of the cockling lever slot, so i imagine there may be some issues internally. This rifle does not have the external hammer spring adjustment. Where this rifle shines though is the weight and feel compared to the 110FT. It's much shorter because it has the barley twist barrel, and the chassis itself is shorter. Standing shots are much easier.
The goal here is to take the best parts of each rifle and make one "go to gun" and setup the 2nd rifle as a spare. Essentially i'd be taking the guts of the lg110 and moving them into the chassis of the lg100. Is this possible?
