I was going to go for a Crown in .25, but then the good Doc Mikelo123 posted up for sale a brand new in the box M3 in .25 for a price I couldn't resist... It didn't take long to have it out at my home range and get about 200 pellets down the barrel. Right out of the box I was not at all impressed, but after a little barrel break in, cleaning and about an hours worth of tuning and testing I got it into some respectable groups. These are with JSB 25.39's and king heavy 33.95's. Both seam to group about the same with a surprisingly small drop in POI with the heavy's.
I didn't have many pellets in .25 available and have back ordered a bunch of them in various brands and weights to do some more testing and I am going to do the carbon fiber sleeve mod for the .25 liner. I really chomping at the bit to get the new harmonic tuner when it becomes available though! I have played around with those many, many years ago with great success on powder burners and I think that is going to be the ticket for getting the groups to the next level.
This was my best 5 shot group at 50 yards after finally finding the sweet spot. Initially I had my Ronin on there but I played around with both that and the DonnyFl FX moderator. The groups seamed to open up just slightly with the Ronin, but I need to do allot more testing with those.
These are two of my best pretty consistant groups at 80 yards which is the longest I can shoot at home for now. I am going to try much longer ranges at my cabin in the near future as soon as the Alaskan breakup is over and the snow is gone so I can get back in there.
Pretty happy with the gun for sure. I think FX has a winner and at the rate they keep upping their game it should keep getting more and more interesting!
