40yds....18gr at 925fps right to the forehead....blew both eyes out and left a nasty exit wound.

Would this be caused by hydrostatic shock?
None the less, well done!! Any dead starling is a good thing.

I don't know.....it doesn't happen all the time. Like with squirrels, maybe 1/3 of the time I'll get a buldging eye from a headshot. I always though it was due to over pressure within the skull.

Nice shooting all around Bob. Those long shots on the silos are pretty sick!
I popped a Squirrel once that did the same thing with the eyes. It also reminds me of huge Groupers we used to catch really deep, and pull out really fast, they came up so fast from so deep that their eyes bulged like that too.
