Starling Break (AKA : Backyard hunting with the HW75 )

I'm finding myself getting two or more of these every day here lately. The work area in the house overlooks the backyard, so every time I see a starling (or ten) fly in I take a short break to walk outside and eliminate one more of 'em.

Really enjoy the HW 75 for this, makes it a bit of a challenge and keeps the energy down to a really safe level for backyard hunting.

REALLY low power - 2.5 FPE at the muzzle.

But, also, REALLY accurate - which makes the energy problem not a problem. These are 5-10 yard shots from peeking around a corner of the house, and often towards a neighboring yard where I don't have hard fence. 2.5 FPE is perfect, just what I need.

I’ve always admired the HW75. Awesome to see that they’ve got the goods enough to take down a starling. One day I’ll have to get an HW75 for some short range garage plinking. Thanks for the post.

The HW75 makes a perfect garden pistol. 2 to 3 fpe is more than enough for HOSPs and grackles. Use a wadcutter and it dumps all of that energy with no pass through. Ultra safe for backyards! H&N Terminators are my favorite garden ammo.
