SSP 10 meter rifle… is the grass really greener?

I know this is an old thread but I actually took some advice that Vana and AlanMcdee suggested . I joined a Boomers weight training class. 4 days a week. Also shooting regularly and my targets are improving. I’d still like to give an SSP a try though 😁View attachment 570274
That is a fantastic ten meter group. You should check out the

Unofficial AGN Monthly Shooting Challenge thread.

There are a couple of us shooting it with ten meter “ish” rifles. The thread could really use a few more participants. It’s fun and very casual.

Well I found this jewel and I couldn’t resist. It looks like it came from the factory. FWB 603 JR. we shall see how it stacks up to the 300S. It may take a while to get used to it.

If you're struggling with the weight...a pcp and a support stand for loading will be your best bet to conserve energy. Having to break position to cock and load can be very tiring over a long session.

These are great. I was using one of these for offhand lanes in FT until they outlawed them (unless everyone gets one).... LOL

Well I shot a few targets tonight. I know I was bitching about the weight of the 300S but the 603 is a lot lighter and it will take a bit to figure her out. I kept them all in the black but that’s about it. The shot cycle sure is nice. A quality rifle for sure.
I would suggest that you try some modification to your shooting position and see if it helps you out any.
I found that my 603 Jr. behaves better if I cradle it or make my offhand into a V block of sorts instead of resting on top of a clenched hand, glove or not.
It involves kicking your front hip out a tad more, and scooting your rear foot back a tad so that you are essentially biased to the rear and it is easier for you to elevate the muzzle with your off elbow tucked into abdomen on top of hip.

Nice rifle by the way, it appears to be pretty minty.

Thank you for the advice. It will help cut the learning curve down. It’s like new.

I read that somewhere about the million shots. Nice collection of rifles. I replied to a for sale ad not long ago for a Jr. Never got a reply.
That sucks, disrespectful...just lost out to a LGV that I was really hoping to get. Went days with out getting back to me, then when he did he didn't tell me where to send payment. Waiting for return message he sells to someone else.
