Squirrel Knocker

There seems to be a lot of folks that get into airguns because of squirrels. Myself included.. 

I've seen a Co2 powered squirrel head smasher available online but from what I remember it was kinda pricy.. Not pricey in terms of what it could possibly prevent, house fires, facia, soffit, damage etc. 

Has anyone on here come up with a home made, pcp, squirrel head hammer? I'm thinking a single acting pneumatic actuator with a solenoid valve and a 120 psi air source or something to that effect. Maybe cobble up some old paintball components or off the shelf automation components.

youd never get the accuracy needed for serious pest removal .. messing around with it till you 'get one' isnt solving the problem, neither is a cheap springer that gets one here and there .. pcp take it to the level of a 9 shot mag pretty much equals 9 kills, and even a 200$ one with a 50$ hand pump will get it done ..

I would think it would be pretty easy to make a co2 unit out of a piece of PVC and a 2240 tube valve and sear set up.

Why miss out on all the fun, get a decent air rifle and scope, build a hide of some sort and have a ball !!! Years back my brother in law had squirrel issues and wanted a humane way to get ride of them. After years of spending big bucks on things that didnt work, I took one of my springers over to him, and after a few shooting lessons he was on target. In two weeks he took out more squirrels than his " humane traps" got rid of in two years !! And he is having fun ! He was never fond of killing but after thousands of dollars in damage ( they lived across the road from a state park) he quickly realized what pest control really means.

I did some research and the Goodnature A24 is $179-$274. It appears that China has copied one and has one for $79-$90...Won't buy China... 

I normally like to shoot squirrels ( BS I love to shoot squirrels!) but I can not and will not shoot in the neighborhood where this woman has a big problem.. I think the price for the Goodnature is just too expensive... Probably a great unit but too much $$. 

Just wanted to see if anyone had come up with a home made "knock off."

Im here specifically to shoot down some squirrels....tired of them. They chewed through my patio furniture

Never have had any damage from squirrels. We have numerous oak trees so lots and lots of acorns, plus we put out feed for birds and squirrels. Sometimes I see 7-8 squirrels, several blue jays and some cardinals all around the feeder at once. This time of year a good size flock of blackbirds come by on their migration. I have gotten to the point where I just put out the cheap deer corn, everything we try to attract seems to like it. We do have the occasional woodpecker eating it, and a couple of local crows. At night I put some dog food in a feeder tied up high in crepe myrtle for the raccoons and possums that come by. My wife would have a fit if I shot some of them, and I enjoy looking out and seeing them around all the time. When we first moved into this house about 43 years ago it was the first house in this area, and I did not have to worry about stray pellets, or .22 LR bullets for that matter, but never did use it in clearing the area of a gopher infestation. I just picked a mound area and watched until one popped up and hit him with my FWB 124.
