That looks professionally made. Good job! If that board is going to hold it up and be a back stop you will need a thicker board if shooting with a PCP

That is nice, I would like that in my back yard and so would the squirrels . I potted over 100 in the yard this past winter. Oh and maybe this will keep them out of the bird feeder.

Good idea that. I think you will need a more durable back stop though, pellets will soon chew through, also, I would drill a small drainage hole in the bottom to help with rain water.

I’ll put a steel plate on the back side and let the wood collect the pellets until it needs replacing. It’s 2x12 board. It will be interesting to see the pattern concentration when it’s full of lead. I may also add a form of umbrella(slanted board to deflect rain). This is for a new property over run with squirrels and chipmunks. I have DNR permission to delete the pests out of season. Got to love the SE.

I built something just like that with 2" wood to stop a 25 cal pass through...I called it the kill zone buffet. A dab of peanut butter works great to keep them still.

Should work well. Maybe a few small holes for drainage? And yes a thicker back stop. My Dreamline in 22 blew right thru a 2x6 “white wood” the other day and buried into my deck post. I wa shocked at the energy. Good luck and post some pics of kills.

At 19yds it stopped a 44.75 .30 PolyMag cruising at ~885fps (approx. 79fpe) without penetrating the belt. Of course, this was after it passed through a squirrel head. But I suppose given the size of the exit hole, it still had plenty of fpe remaining. ;-)

Belt was left loose and leaning 1/2" forward so it was free to move before slapping the 4"x6" backstop.

It sure did the trick. First, remember I had permission from the DNR to pest out of season to remove these critters. First time out yielded 10 squirrels from 10 shots. 18’s from .22 wildcat. 8 head shots, 2 heart shots. 40yds

love it! ive got a nice 25yrd shooting bench that doubles as a bird feeder plus squirrel attractant. . all my rifles are zeroed for my targets and the squirrel shooting is the same distance. happy coincidence. lol. the upper right box is a hopper for sunflower seeds etc. works great for squirrel shooting!
