"Springer rated" scope for an Air Arms TX200 Mk3 air rifle

Okay, I think I've found the scope I need for this springer. It's a UTG Hunter IR 3-9x40 AO (1 inch) scope.

The scope comes with rings, but I wonder if I ought to get a 1-piece mount such as a UTG 1PC High Profile Airgun Mount w/ Stop Pin, 1" Dia

Before I ordered I figured I check with you folks.

Here's the scope on Amazon: UTG Hunter IR 3-9×40 AO (1 inch) scope

I use the RWS Lockdown one piece mount/rings with droop compensation on all of my TX200s, ProSport, and HW97 rifles. Works terrific and is inexpensive.

Merry Christmas!

Hey, I was just wondering why you have a droop compensation mount on a TX200, since it's a continuous straight barrel, not a break barrel?

I have that scope and for the money it's a good scope. Had it on a Sig ASP20 and two different RWS 34's. No problems. The crosshairs are a little thicker than I like but doable. As far as a one piece droop mount for a fixed barrel I'm not thoroughly convinced it's necessary. The droop that may be present can't be anywhere near what it is on some break barrel air rifles. I have had a couple RWS 34's and none had a droop issue. My FWB 124 has some droop I'd describe as moderate.

Most airguns inherently have barrel droop phenomenon even fixed barrel springers and PCPs. Pretty much most everything airguns.

I prefer to mount my scope as low as possible as a general rule. This keeps the mass of the scope close to the rifle, and reduces the chances of a canting error as well. A 40mm objective would allow for medium mounts. I use BKL double strap mounts on my TX and HW97, and they are rock solid.

This. I even went with those BKL double strap self centering mounts on my D34 clone. They are fantastic!

You're the reason I have that scope and bang for buck its very good. Currently it's on my D34 knockoff and it works perfectly.

I highly doubt a fixed barrel is going to have droop as severe as some break barrels

The Hammers scope I have seems about as good as the UTG. The UTG probably has a better build quality. I did have a Mantis and sent it back. Couldn't hold zero for beans !

Tell that to one of my Theoben SLR 98s that nothing higher than a 2- 7x scope that's elevation is cranked way up and off optically center can be used due to severe barrel droop!!!! It has factory integrated 1 inch rings mounted to its receiver BTW.

Multishot underlever gas ram rifle of yesteryear. ALL of my HW97s and 77s needed droop compensated adjustable mounts as well since I like to use higher than average magnification scopes that are optically centered.
