Springer and gas piston scopes

Hi all,

Is there anyway to tell if a scope can handle the dual recoil of spring/gas piston airguns? most scopes claim to be shockproof and I have read that larger tube diameters are stronger but only a few say that they are safe to use.

Shockproof is typically stated for powderburners and not necessarily for the dual recoil imposed by springers. I suggest inquiring from the place you intend on buying whether or not it is magnum spring airgun rated and what is the warranty first before buying and any long standing big airgun store would give you appropriate advice. I would also contact the manufacturer to see if indeed they have a hassle free NO B.S. NO EXCUSES NO CHARGE lifetime warranty. Be advised some may charge you some sort of fee or even give you some B.S. to process or DENY your LIFETIME warranty.

I have been through a lot of scopes and they don't necessarily handle springers without fail even if it they are rated for magnum springers so a good NO B.S. warranty is your friend in this case.

Joe Wayne Rhea will tell you like it is when it comes to scopes and warranty and durability so I would fully trust his opinion on whatever he has to say.
