I want to get a spotting scope. I’ve been shooting on my range up to 45 yds. I’m always using a rifle with a scope. I’ve since wanted to try the iron sights and pistols. Having trouble seeing my shot I’m not interested in running back and forth. I would like the scope to do my walking.
I was looking at Hawke Endurance ED or Vantage 24. I would prefer decent quality.
Are these decent scopes?
Do recommend something different?

I’ve got an athlon ares first gen. With a phone Mount these were taken at close to 300 yards.

I bought one of these Athlon Talos 20-60×80 spotting scopes a few years ago and for $119 it is excellent.
I check them out, thanks. Crow
I have not used either model you mentioned, but like rifle scopes, spend as much as you can afford or justify. I’ve had Bushnell’s and a Kowa. The Kowa was awesome but it was about $800.
If you’re working only out to 50 yards, about anything will work good enough.
Also, I shoot at nite a lot, better optics probably needed. Crow

Awesome pictures. I used to go to British Columbia a fair bit which is 3000 miles away from me. I went to a place just north of Squamish and I would say there were probably 200 bald Eagle‘s within eyesight. Pictures are déjà vu. I have family of bald Eagle‘s living near me.
Thanks , I’ll check out these scopes. Crow

I have some good ones, for the money Pentax PF 65ED is hard to beat;the older Nikon Fieldscope can be had at good used prices.
Stick with good Japanese glass, and beware that some upper-tier Chinese scope use Japanese glass, you want fully multi-coated lenses.
It is worth spending extra money on a good spotting scope....if you can't, buy used, the Hawke scope may be all you need .
I used to live by Squamish, Bald Eagles everywhere, beautiful country.

Thanks, that’s what I need to know. I would prefer better optics.
IMO BC is the nicest province in Canada. Crow
