How can they have the 62% positives on Wal-Mart?
The item is way too obscure for a standard scam. If you look at the diversity of products these types of vendors sell it is more probable they bid on blind abandoned or confiscated storage enclosures. Either that or buy auctioned off insurance written off products from accidents, exposure to things or warehouses going out of business etc. At worse a mistaken listing part number some guys wife in the business grabbed scrounging around the internet for old marketing info. I am hoping just warehouse orphans somebody bought in a batch of other products they are more familiar with.
Let's face it this is an extremely obscure item even most reasonably experienced optics buyers would not even give a second look. I would venture to say only the people Odoyle enlightened on this site bought them so maybe 15 items at $40ea and it ran out quickly. That is hardly worth burning Walmart who has a fleet of lawyers on retainer to chase you with. If you were going to do a scam and run you would put up a popular cell/Iphone or gaming accessory etc that had a higher selling price and massive popularity to younger less experienced buyers. Something you could sell thousands of in a few hours.
Tinboat, You do realize we all just did a measily $40 daily transactional consumer business with the largest corporation in the US? Not just the largest consumer business but the largest corporation in the US period. You act like we all loaned our cars to some stranger on a streetcorner in Compton who promised us all new tires and rims for $40.
I have never called a vendor regarding a purchase on a corporte website in my life. I would deal with Walmart and let them deal with "their" vendor. Same with Amazon or Ebay etc. I might send the first email at most. If the vendor doesn't respond and take care of it then the corporate host website Walmart pays you back. It might take a week or two for the process to play out and I could not care less if they tie up a whole $40 for awhile. That is not even a cheap dinner with the wife. If I have to return it to the Walmart right down the street to have them credit me then whoopie, my wife goes ther twice a week anyway. Some of us took a calculated risk. What's the big deal and why do you care?
