Sportsmatch dampa Mount v Diana ZR mount

Well I’ve waisted my money, $128 on the dampa and $78 on the ZR mount. I managed to order and obtain a ZR mount recently as well as the dampa. I fitted the dampa mount to my scope killing 177 Trail and the results weren’t very pleasing. So I changed the scope with a new one, still the same results, groups most of the time but not where I was aiming.

Out comes the ZR mount. All over the shop like a mad dogs breakfast. Changed the scope back to the new one, still the same. Removed the Zr mount and fitted a long base mount,4 screws. Fitted the old scope, UTG 4*32 (less things to go wrong on the scope killer). Perfect, so what’s the problem? Has any body else had such disappointing results with these mounts?

I had read here that the ZR mount was very good. I had intended to use the ZR mount on the 177 Trail and the dampa on my 22 Trail. The other thing that is also pooping me off is the I ordered another ZR mount with my new Diana 56 which arrives at the end of this month.

The bottom right group of ten I think was the best I could achieve with the ZR mount. The group labeled A is from the same rifle with a solid mount and the original scope after I removed the ZR mount.

The recoil action on the mount is not impeded and the stop screw fits snugly in its hole. The base didn’t move at all during testing so I’m at a loss to what went wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
