I had put a 4-16 Hawke Airmax scope in a Sportsmatch damap mount, but with factory scope settings it was shooting about 4" low at 10 yards. tried shimming, one piece of soda can only moved it about 1/2" so ordered a Sportsmatch adjustable one piece mount and it came in today, so swapped the scope over. Before tightning the ring, I took the cover for the windage knob off and squared it to a small machinists square to hopefully level the reticule, which it seems to have done.
Like I said with the dampa mount it was about 4" low and I had zeroed using elevation knob, so before I started I aimed at the center point and walked the impact down to where it was, very close to out of box settings. I knew I was shooting low, so dialed in one turn of elevation adjustment and put everything on the gun, still a little low, so off and another turn, then too high, so back down about 3/4 turn and perfect, then played with windage adjustment and got it zeroed with all my adjustments in the mount. Then moved out to 30 yards and about 1 1/4 high so made a minor adjstment with the scope knob. I'm happy now, I can dial in a longer distance if needed , I could move my pellet trap out further and maybe get 55-60 yards max, but doubt that I will be doing that.
