Some new bullets and +20c. From left. 37gr HP bullet, 50gr FN and 51gr Spitzer. Oh man that 37gr is flying out hot!

Thats 1093fps and 98,1FPE out from 37gr .224 bullet.

989fps out from 50gr. Topping out to almost 110FPE

That 50gr Ohaus might be my go to target shooting bullet if I manage to get it grouping solid.

All numbers by using 2900PSI.

Well Its not efficient gun at all since its really built for external regulator and max power. 24.8" barrel and that energy its really not ideal carry around gun since you get only like 5usable shots and thats also why that mag is only taking 5bullets. Atm it uses 5bars per shot out from 250cc tank but its really easily adjustable to shoot at lower power but not really intended for it.

Had some problems with pin and mag. With pin, bolt shaved slice from bullet above it so I decided to cut it off and make retractable bolt since there is no downside on it but two huge benefits. 1. More power! 2. Full bore size bolt feeds bullets more evenly!

Anyhow power increase wasnt the one I was after but still gained abit. 4fpe with 50grainer now coming out at 1005fps when it was 989fps before. I wish I could say Im done with this gun and can start to shoot it but seems this is one of those I love to play around with too much lol. Luckily I got my texan 257 thats awesome out from box lol.

I too am playing with a hot .22. Using Brownell's Barrel liners in both 1016 and 1-20 twist.

Here are the results with my cast bullets rom NOE molds which I modded to hp the slugs.

this is

1 shot to clear the reg. and 10 on target at 80 yards. HP work done on NOE CC-1 mold. 36 gr at 920's. Can push the to 1089", but accuracy suffers.

Also including hp test in .250 barrel. Also NOE.

Sure puts the stop on vermin in a hurry. ;<)

Yep, it started as a Mini Raptor. (Prototype) However it has sorta grown. Longer PB barrel in .223, and a few other mod's. Custom valve on the way. Woo-Hoo!!! Customized Hogue grip shown. Thinned, and bead blasted. Very comfortable).

Have custom barrel in .223, .251, ..257. Need to add a .30 eventually. 😁

(Some of the pic's show the gun mounted high on the table. Right after back surgery. Couldn't bend over LOL!)

Pic then and now, kinda. Added a Accu-Tac G@ and a nice zero angle Ergo Grip as well and put the Zeiss back on. Man, talk about optics!!! Cant even look at a white target backing without getting spots in the eyes. Shades a must! Fantast in moon light varminting.

Man, that breech and bolt work you've done has it going on! Nice!!!

Congrats with the mods. This platform is underrated in my opinion. Not light to carry but good quality components. The large plenum is great for power.

I am eying an m11 in .25 to keep my m22 company. The m11 comes with a stock silencer. Would this moderator be any good reducing the muzzle report in .25 with 60joule power? Backyard friendly? Thanks,

Stock moderator is only 25mm in diameter so more u push faster you run out of volume on it so I would say its not really quiet. I shot my gun at peak power with it and you could hear eco of it from 200meters.

Thanks ... Glad you were not carted off in chains ...

Very enamored with your build. On the Raptor, I should have a custom valve soon. A Don Cothran. It hopefully with be a prototype. I added an Accu-Tac G2 bipod and just installed a Ergo Zero Angle grip. Makes bench work much easier. The AccuTac is built like a tank. Very impressive and stable.

I just changed out the .223 barrel and am testing a Superiors Heavy liner for a little research. So far, so good. I had dismal results with it choked, and removed it. Much better but not impressed. Every Bullet I tried was scattering. I decided to try the HP pictured above. I mainly Hp'd it to move the CG Rearward. Boy did it work. But have only tested at short ranges. Testing more in a few minutes. It is heavy CF Wrapped to end up with a full bull barrel with CF for stiffening extending the full length into the action block.

I am considering making an new air tube a bit longer as is featured on the full size Raptor. Mine started as a Mini. So more work ahead. LOL!

This really is never ending isn't it.

I'll know more shortly.

The spitzer you show looks all the world like a 338 .257 Lyman of old. Extremely accurate in My Talon/Dor .257. ;<)

Just a quick thought, not saying Im right, just trying to get an answer.... The volume past the valve up to the pellet where it sits in barrel, that pressure cant be high for long, as the pellet must start to move really quick, so lets say it is 200 bar behind the valve, the poppet opens for a short time, the small volume fills up quick but pellet moves right away, how could that put stress on the bolt behind , it cant be much force as you have to reinforce that M5 bolt ?

Newtons 3rd law every force has equal counterforce so that equal force pushing projectile applys dirrectly on opposite side = bolt. Stock screw holding it is M3 12.9 and it have snapped on few occasions on end users so no point to risk it when you have gun generating 110+ FPE and heavy bolt that comes to your face if that bolt snaps. Im sure its fairly safe with stock gun but mine is over 3times the energy it was designed for + I wouldnt say my valve is open for short time and its alot larger than orginal.

but the bolt is a M5 12.9, not M3 , this could handle 1700kg force before it breaks, and the force on a 5.5mm hole with 200bar pressure = 50kg, even if calculate with 5 times the security, it will give : 1700/5= 340kg.... it seems the force is only a fraction of what the bolt can handle before it even comes close to break, and this is with the barrel plugged, when a pellet or slug is inside the pressure will get lower really quick..

Sorry, dont understand how a M5 12.9 bolt could even be close to snap with a force of 50kg
