South Africas Biggest Pest Bird

I normally shoot about 4 to 5 of these Indian Mynas per week around the house, they are extremely cleaver and one miss shot could mean weeks of waiting to shoot it again. These two sat in the back yard and I took the first opportunity to take them out as quick as possible

Nice. These are a huge pest in Australia too. I actually work for a company that manufactures and supplies traps for these things. Rarely does a day go by without at least one being ordered! I'm in the process of getting licensed to so I can legally own an airgun (after a year of not shooting since I moved down under from the UK) and I can't wait to get after these! With the numbers of Indian Mynas, European starlings (which I used to shoot loads of at home until they became protected a few years ago) and sparrows (same situation) that are here in Victoria - I'm pretty confident that I won't be short of sport!

You actually have to have a license to own an airgun? What is this world coming to?

Whilst on some level I agree with you - in the UK you don't need a license to own a sub 12 ft/lb air rifle (or 6ft/lb pistol) - I don't really have any objection to it. I'm entitled to a license, so I will be issued with a license, and from then on it doesn't cause a problem. I'll be honest, I'd rather that people like me and you, who wish to shoot legally and safely have to jump through hoops to be able to do that than the alternative (I point to the US as an example). I don't think that this is the place to get into a debate on gun control though ;)
