Sorting Pellets question

I bought some pellets and the tins were damaged in shipment. Clearly some pellets dinged, with skirts bent. 

Is there a better way to sort pellets other than the obvious, two pair of reading glassed, tiny tweezers and patience?

Got a garbage can? Throw out the badly damaged and shoot the rest. Skirts don't have to be perfect, 3,000 psi fixes them fast.

I have been shooting them, unless they look really mangled, and surprised that they seem to perform as well as then do when bent.

I have rolled them on a piece of glass before, quite easy to see them bump when the roll if the skirt is damaged, should roll smooth if not danaged. Not sure this is any faster but it works

Think elh0102 is correct. Saw a video of a guy who mangled skirts of five, I think, pellets, with pliers, then shot them with an equal number of undamaged ones. Couldn't tell much difference in accuracy. General consensus was that air blast fixed skirts.

At close ranges like 25 yards they may shoot well but take them out to 50 and 100 and it is likely the groups will likely open up quite a bit.

Reading glasses and rolling and weighing and ... Oh and lots of patients.

If they're domed pellets just use the head of one of pellets to reshape the skirts if not too badly damaged.

One tip I can say that I took away from YOdoyle was to use a stereo/mono phone jack to reshape bent pellet skirts.

get something hard and flat, roll them. You'll hear the bounce if they are damaged. I like the jack above too. that can undo some of the damage

This. Only way to let the vendor know they have a lazy shipping clerk that needs remedial pellet shipping training. Only takes one person to mess up a slew of orders and get the kind of advertising money cant buy.
