Sorry for the probaly obvious question

When I first mounted my scope on the HW100BP, The rifle was shooting very high, after adjusting the elevation turret what seemed like a lot I was able to get it centered at 20yds, I thought I might be better off to change my rings to adj ones, here comes my question, after I turn the turret back to the original point, I should lift the front of the scope slightly with the adj rings to get it close to center, yes, to get me back in the middle of the turret travel

Thanks

You have it correct. Set your rifle in a vise or rest. Loosen the adjustable mounts to where they will barely move when you pull on them. Fire a shot, then without letting the rifle move, lift up on the front ring until your horizontal reticle line is even with the point of impact. Do that a few times until your horizontal line is on the point of impact or very close to it. Tighten down your adjustable mounts and verify you are still close. Finish fine tuning your zero with the scope turrets.
