SERIOUS!

So my beloved and faithful Carette, needed a rebuild (it's second one in 154 hours)....during the time waiting for parts (I needed to replace the piston this time), I took stock of how many compressors I've owned (4)....how much maintenance they require (some of them constant), How many PCP's I own (50+), how may SCBA tanks I own (4), how much I shoot (a LOT)...and how much I dreaded the foreboding feeling of "when" the next break down of my compressor would occur....Well....The answer was simple!

Its the W31 industrial grade breathable air they retail for 3100.00 manual stop/start/purge +700.00 for auto.

That’s much appreciated info. When you consider what some have spent, myself at the top of the list , that seems reasonable in comparison? What does auto get you? Just an automatic shut off or more ? Certainly looks like a more robust compressor.

Reasonable? For me...yes....Auto STOP is the operative word for me....It almost makes the Carette look like a toy....

DJ I’ve got just shy of 50 hrs on my Carette. It’s been a rock, not fast but totally reliable. When you did your first rebuild what did you use as a guide and where did you get the parts? I cringe at to thought of opening it up but I know it will need an overhaul at some point. Thanks. Uj

UJ,

I used youtube as an initial guide (there are Carette vids up there on take down).....As far as parts, mine came with a parts kit (O rings gaskets, burst disk etc)...No worries...it's very easy once you get into it (not a lot of parts), and the vids will help you a lot!
