Something to ponder on...I’m curious

I've been waiting for a year and hoping a few reputable, service capable dealers in the U.S. will take on the new air cooled Carette. It is priced to compete with Omegas but seems to be much more of a robust design.

For guys who don't want to step up to the Alkin weight class (145 lbs) and price class ($3200) there is the Coltri MCH-6 which is 100 lbs. and $2700. Below that price point it's risky business. It is sad to see the guys who take small steps up the compressor price ladder after each compressor failure. I know several of them. When they add up their losses the Alkin seems cheap in comparison to a collection of dead compressors.

My $280 yong heng is still running like new after 3 years and I have a new $30 piston/rod assembly sitting on the shelf if it's ever needed.

I spent another $400 on a good air drier from Joe B and I believe it was worth it.

Same here. I have an MCH6 gas powered unit because I didn't want to always be tied to a power source but the YH just keeps doing it's thing.

With you all the way on your comment, Steve.

I’m glad my thought pattern when I got into PCP’s was to take care of the air need first. The guns will be there after, and sure enough, buying the guns used on the classifieds has helped me save a bunch.

you fellows have made me very comfortable with my setup. a diana chaser rifle in .22 caliber. i had a friend tune it up. now its shooting a 14.3 gr pellet at 11.4 flbs. 25 to 30 yds. inside a inch and1/4. scoped with a hawke 4x32 ao. very quiet with the moderator. given i am an old man,i couldn't go through 800.00 of c02 in the rest of my life. within 25 to 30 yds i can get rid of a lot unwanted critters. thank you
