Today, I went out to my permission and with the cooler temps I figure it would be a bit more productive at my permission, true and false.
When I arrived I checked in with the owner and spent a few minutes chatting with him. He mentioned some people just left the farm who were goose hunting, seemed a bit early to me, but turns out it isn’t. As our chat continued, we covered a few topics then I asked if he had grouse on the far end of the property, he said a few but i would do better on woodcock. Right there and then, my permission got “double fudge” chocolate topping with sprinkles. I now have full access to the properties, for all hunting.

, 100s of acres.
Anyways, when I drove down to the parking area I unloaded the Uragan Compact in 177. A change from last time is I put a DFL Tatsu on it, so i needed to site the rifle in before heading out. I set up a target at 30 yards, and using JSB 10.34 at 17ish FPE, I sighted in and headed out. First, the Uragan was quiet before the Tatsu using the AGT moderator, now it is quieter than a downwind mouse fart. Accuracy is good too. Though the pictures don’t show the real numbers, I got a total of about 8 sparrows, 1 starling and a pigeon, with one pigeon fly off. And finally saw one of the farm cats, I left the pigeon for the guy (assuming gender yes)
Some of the sparrows I couldn’t recover, as was with starling stuck on a roof.
In between kills I wandered around the property and explored some of the further areas, and it still goes and goes. The owner is one of the local fire chiefs too, so I know if I keep him happy, and ask his referral will go a long ways. Old family in the area too, another double plus.
I did see some doves, but I couldn’t confirm a collar, so I played the safe side and assumed they were morning doves.
South Central New Hampshire is treating me well.
The property has it all, even thick with turkey i am told, but I’ll need a shotgun for that one, and a new Franchi over and under is already planned.
As I previously posted too, I am awaiting the delivery of my Brocock Ranger XR in 22 cal iguana package. I got a notice from UPS saying my AOA package arrived, I get to back to my building and well, the apartment office has a “mid-sized” box for me. I go OK, seems light, but heck the gun folds, then I get to my apartment, and there is a smaller box in the bigger box, and I open it and there is an iguana target. The RANGER is still on its way..UPS separated the kids, it should be here Tuesday next week.
