Some sellers just don't make it easy for you to buy...

@ Yen- I don’t know for fact that does happen, but it seems to me ive read somewhere where a guy purposely over priced his gun so no one would buy it. But he did as his wife asked him to, to sell off before she approved him buying new.

Trouble is, what guns he had left he cherished them all and didn’t want to let go.
In your case the price is not the issue, but making contact is.

Man, we’ve all heard it especially over the holidays- we just don’t know what a person is going thru. There’s probably a reason he’s working long shifts, right? If it were me in your shoes, I’d send one more pm between now and New Years, and in that pm tell him you’ll be contacting him again after the New Years, and if he wants you yo stop contacting him to please let you know.

One of my purchases here in this classifieds was from a guy who is no longer. In fact the Gun and everything hobby related he sold as he didn’t want his wife to have to deal with things after he passed.

The gun I bought from him, which I thought would sell fast, ended up on page 10, still available. I contacted him asking if he still had it and he said yes. I mentioned I was surprised because he was selling a brand new fresh out of case(to only take pics) for $400 less than new price. He told me the few folks that contacted him accused him of being a scammer, main reason is the gun wasn’t even released yet but he had one(that’s another story).

So this is a perfect example of someone being called a scammer but no one knew of his situation. I think about him Everytime I pull that Gun out

Yeah a call is required for me. Heck when I bought from an authorized dealer I still called because I wanted to know I could get someone on the phone and they took time to talk and interact with me nicely. A 5 min call m and I placed a 3000.00 order right after the hangup. If I had gotten a robo or grumpy gus I would have moved on.

Ok, so he maybe at work and busy. Really busy unfortunately and if you were to get a hold of him and talk to him you better make sure he has the time to package it well and send the item to you as he maynot have the time to do that either. His buyer maybe some lucky buyer who catches him at the right time and local.

I would personally move on. I’m guessing there probably is a reason it has been sitting in the classifieds so long >>>> his attitude.
Some sellers make it really east to not buy. Lately I have been getting a big chuckle out of those of you who list pellets for more than you can get them shipped to you from pyramid air. Even if the price is the same or a smidge less I think I’m choosing the place I know packs them tight as Fort Knox.

.02 on the subject.....

A telephone conversation is de rigueur.

Text and e mail are acceptable pre and post conversation, but at the prices we are talking about, anyone can find 5 to 10 minutes to spare for a call if it results in a few K in their pocket.

If the seller has a solid rep on the forums, then the requirements are more lax.

I have to say a telephone conversation makes the transaction more comfortable. I just bought a pellet pistol from a new member thru pm's. He called me after receiving my check to let me know he'd ship as soon as it cleared. I felt much more comfortable after talking to the seller, granted I don't have the gun yet.
