Today I visited a dairy where I had my greatest ratting adventures. I killed hundreds of rats at this place. They unfortunately ceased dairy operations a year ago. And many of the rats vacated the premises. Was hoping to spot some woodchucks but no luck. So I headed to a dairy closer to home. Ten minutes after setting up a rat pops up to my right 25 yards away. Line it up, about to send the pellet. Effing cow comes out of nowhere, somewhere?!, and throws herself in front of the rat.!!!
Then at least a dozen more cows totally blocked my kill zone. So I went after some pigeons. My first kill off the wire at 84 yards. Sent the first pellet completely over the pigeons’ head (14 MOA). It allowed me another shot (12 MOA) and down it went. Shot two more pigeons at 54 yards off roof pictured. My last pigeon kill was at 45 yards, but required two shots. I was very unhappy about that. Killed three rats the two pictured at 25 and 32 yards. One was fatally hit but I watched give a final kick into its hole and I could not retrieve it. The stiff looking rat, I headshot yesterday, but couldn’t find the body. Today I see just this tail sticking out of the dirt right where I shot it. Was glad to be able to just get out and be afield. All kills with JSB Exact Jumbo 18s and range finder measured. God Bless America...
