Some ideas...20X with red dot?

Hi guys,

I'm not up to speed with the latest scopes.

I purchased this rifle off the classifieds and it came with a really nice Leupold 3-9x40 VX-R Patrol. I'm enjoying the red dot. The only thing lacking is I would like more power such as 18 to 20 X.

My budget is less than a grand.

What should I be looking at?

I assume you're talking about Leupolds FireDot reticle? If so just go on the Leupold website and you'll be able to find something in your price range with that reticle and magnification range.

Thanks, I do like Leupold but I'm open to other brands. The problem is the fire dot range doesn't really focus down properly to the shorter airgun ranges. I think they are set up for 50 yards and beyond.

Ok I gotcha now. I thought you were specifically looking for that reticle. I'd probably grab an Ares ETR 3-18x50. Great glass, amazing turrets, focuses down to 10yds but it is FFP. I love a good FFP scopes but I know some people really like SFP. I have the ETR 4.5-30x56 and its been great for me.

On the cheaper side, the Athlon Argos line is pretty great too for the money.

Not to push Meopta too much but I have one that illuminates just the center dot
Its the Optika5 4-20x 50mm RD-(red dot) z-plus recitle. Its currently on sale
