Some days are just poor

Went out to shoot a couple of practice relays with the boss this morning. Accuracy was just poor. Total emberasment. I've seen this before, but got to wondering if it was the gun, so went and got the wildcat. Nope, not the gun. It's me. I've had these days before and never have been able to figure out why. Harder I concentrate on the basics, worse it gets. Total waste of lead. So, I'm going to do the ethnical thing. Blame it on the wind, tempture, bad light, pellets and the guns! 😁
 
I too have suffered from the same fate. I have found that a couple of things tend to happen to me. One, I drink too much coffee and expect to be able to be steady.....not so much. Two, I tend to grip a little too tight. Three, I find myself trying to use my body pressure, cheek, hand, or other points of contact to move or keep the gun on target. Once I stop and let the gun sit, un-preloaded with any pressure being exerted on my part and think about a very gentle grip, my POI tends to come back to my POA. Just my 2 cents. oh, yes, if this does not help there is always a flaw in the mfg of the pellet!

Kitplanenut the best advice I could give is find an airgun buddy in your area that is a decent shot. A little time with someone that can shoot and is willing to teach will improve your shooting for sure.

If you do not have anyone in your area. I have a few questions. Are you shooting from a bench, sticks or off hand? If its a bench or table is it level and steady? Bipod or shooting bags? What caliber is your wildcat? Are you using the meat on the top of your index finger then pulling straight back towards your shoulder when pulling the trigger? What scope and is the eye relief right. Is the scope height right and is it plumb with the barrel?
