This is all done. Mods please lock the thread.

I realize I'm making an absolutely outrageous request here: I'm asking to BORROW airgun moderators from total strangers to test them for sound levels. My hope is to get as many as possible together for one big comparative test. All of this is an extension of my testing in THIS THREAD. Anyone who would be willing to lend a moderator I'd really appreciate it, and my pledge is to publish the peak number and an image of the sound profile as well as a brief subjective observation on the moderator, no matter the results. Sound profiles tend to look like this:

A few people have already kindly stepped forward with some of DonnyFL's smaller designs (Tanto, and FX). I'm looking for larger designs of his. I'm also very curious to test some of the other less popular designs out there. A Hugget would be great if anyone can spare one. Trident and 0dB moderators would also be interesting, as there seems to be relatively little information out there on them.

My request to anyone sending in moderators:

1) Ship with delivery confirmation and insurance so you know it arrives, and can make a claim if it doesn't. All moderators will be returned with a tracking number (which I'll PM you) and will be insured!

2) Label your moderator clearly. Put a piece of masking tape on the side and write your return address, forum handle (so I can get in touch with you, and give you return tracking info), and your moderator's value. (need a value to insure it for. Please be aware that if the worst does happen and an insurance claim is necessary, you'll need to show a product listing somewhere with an equivalent value)

3) Package your moderator safely and securely.

I'm located in the northeastern United States, Maine specifically. Anyone willing I really appreciate it, hopefully we (the community) can all benefit. Any comments or questions post them below. Anyone who has a moderator to send in please contact me via PM.

I hope that covers everything!

*EDIT*
I've been asked by the forum moderator to prevent this thread from becoming a discussion, as that is not allowed. Anyone who wants to send me a moderator, please reach out via PERSONAL MESSAGE. I believe the area below is only for questions directly related to the parameters of the deal. Otherwise this thread will get locked.
Thanks everyone, and a huge thank you to everyone who has responded so far!

What caliber?

What gun/thread?

What pressure, velocity and pellet weight will you test?

How long will you keep them ?

The gun I'm going to test it on is a .22 caliber FX Crown. I currently run a 1/2x28 adapter, although can fabricate at least some adapters to test other threads. Nominal pressure (reg gauges are not necessarily that accurate) will be 135 bar. Pellets will be JSB 18.13s. I'm hoping to have the moderators only a week or two. There is some logistics to the whole thing of getting them all at the same place and the same time given varying shipping times and locations across the country, and I'd like to have some margin for error, but I really want to have them on their way back to people within a month. I don't want to Umarex Hammer the situation, but my intention is to do the testing and return the cans as soon as possible. Once I have them all, it is just a matter of getting a day with clear weather and reasonably calm wind so I can set everything up outside and get the data which this time of year in New England you usually get one day like that per week. I hope that answers all your questions.

I have a DonnyFL Sumo in .22 and a DonnyFL Shogun in a .25 cal. That I'm not currently using.

If you would be willing, I'd be much obliged. :)

I have a nice fully aluminum one that fits on end of my Rainstorm. Both ends unscrew and it currently has no baffles. I can give you exact measurements, and you're welcome to borrow it if you want to experiment with adding your own baffles and testing that way. It's on a .22 but the holes look like they'd clear a .25

As I said, it's empty. The real baffles in the Rainstorms shroud work just fine at 29.8 ftlbs.

Let me know if interested. Oscilloscope or computer program?
