Here's an opportunity to cut through the wait on a virtually new JSAR Raptor in .25 with the TJ slug barrel (unless you want to change it).

The gun is awesome and I love it, and I'm going to be as transparent as I can as to why for me, specifically, the benefits don't outweigh the costs.

So I'm putting this out there to see what kind of interest there is.

Pros

- Really powerful and interchangeable everything

- Very efficient and pretty quiet, with a quiet action as well. I live in a canyon where every little thing echoes and I can hear people scraping eggs off their plates, and this is backyard friendly for me with any decent mod.

- MOA accurate out to 80 yards (I don't have the opportunity to shoot longer) - this is with JSB lights

- Fantastic trigger and ridiculous balance

Cons

- I don't have a lot of faith in the continued existence of JSAR. If you have even basic skills, then this is not an issue. But I am not a tinkerer, and embarrassingly, I can't even swap out an o-ring without shredding a handful of them. So I need to know there's a place for me to send my guns in for even relatively minor tweaks and mods.

- I got one of the first Raptors off the line, and again I'm not a tinkerer, so I never bothered to send it back in to get the external reg on it. Contrary to a lot of reports on this forum, I HAVE been able to communicate with them consistently with good and responsive service, and they can pop the external reg on it whenever.

- Previous to this gun, I have been a single-tray (FT, hunting) or cylindrical magazine guy only. I have learned that I am not satisfied with spring-loaded magazines.

So there it is in a nutshell and what has turned out to be an abridged review of the gun and the maker.

If there's any interest, ping me, either here or at (818) 43 nine three two four two.

Always open to trades. Am particularly looking for guns that are at least as quiet or quieter than the Veteran or an FFP scope with high mag, a christmas tree reticle, and a sidewheel.

Thanks for reading,

James
