So.... my Yong Heng...

After 30+ hours of runtime, I started to notice a bad piston slap when unloaded. Still making good pressure, but figured I'd pull it down anyway. Simple process, and yup the wrist pin had wallowed out the piston to an egg shaped hole. Went ahead and replaced that along with a few gaskets and o-rings (I had stocked up a while back). A total of $35 later and an hour or two of time (which I really enjoyed, I love to tinker), it's back up and running as good as new.

Why do people not like these things? That 30 hours of runtime represents a couple years for me...mighty cheap air indeed!

Phthhht! Whats wrong with water cooling? My car uses it. Again, I like to tinker, I've gone way over board with fans and cooling, but what the heck. Do the more expensive compressors get away without? And, if so, at what cost? I have less than maybe $400 to date on this compressor and it works a charm. You buys your ticket and you takes your ride I guess...and sometimes, the buss runs you down...
