So much Morning After regret.....

...pain, confusion, etc. Black Friday finally came so I added a long wanted TX200 in Walnut to the PA cart, 3 FREE tins of 500 AA 16s, and a UTG scope for it. Total including tax, tag, title, shipping & handling: $651. The regular cost of the gun alone is like $700? and it's never on sale. Alas I decided against it because I have spent my share of house income on airguns this year. I figured, "Maybe next year". Sadness ensues....

On the 10th of this month I "pulled the trigger"! I finally bought a QUALITY Springer. I paid $500 for a RWS 48.

I am not covered up with money so it it was a big purchase for me. I have a couple of older brothers in Texas who are hunters. Neeless to say one of them thought I was crazy to pay $500 for a "PELLET GUN". Well, we all have to deal with folks who's only experience with air rifle was being shot with a Daisy--LOL

I am now to old to care very much about what folks think they know. As I watch these black Friday adds come and go I can see most people want PCP's. I am a old Geezer and just wanted a high quality Air Rifle I could shoot around the house and enjoy taking out a few gofers.

What it all comes down to is what "suits" YOU! There are many kinds of Air Rifles because there are many kinds of needs/desires firmly embedded in the operators of those rifles.

I love my new RWS 48!

I've not seen many quality airguns at a really discounted price for Black Friday. So far this weekend, most discounts' I've seen are about the same you can find several times through out the year if you watch for them. Maybe there will be a Cyber Monday discount that is better than the Black Friday ones, but I haven't seen much for Cyber Monday pricing yet.

"Smaug"Read the recent thread (which I just added to) about TX200s.

If I were to do it again, I would get a Walther LGU instead. Or even a Diana 48, and spend the change on a pro-tune.
I can understand your desire for a TX200 or Walther LGU, and you should add an HW97K to the list. However, the Diana 48/52 can't compare with these. It's heavier and very harsh shooting and definitely needs a tune. Plus, IMO, the workmanship on the other guns is superior.

I had the TX200 HC in .22 cal and it was the best and most accurate Springer I ever owned.
Recently put in an order for the Gauntlet and got skeered and canceled that one and decided to go for my first PCP pistol instead. The Mrodair Airmax MKII. Should be here tomorrow.
Will probably figure out a way to make a carbine out of it? LOL

I saw the picture you posted. Very nice! I’m not in pistol territory yet. But if I decided for a pistol, I would leave as such. Unless I wanted a do it all, all purpose, only gun I own, gun.
