Usually I try and keep my speeds in 900 fps range plus or minus depending on what the gun likes. Over the weekend I set my Veteran .22 up to shoot the JSB 25.4 gr Monster Redesigned pellets at 890 fps which is max my gun will do at the current reg settings. All factory I assume as I haven't touched it. Wow did it ever like them. So I plotted my turret out to 80 yards and put it up. Yesterday I went to my buddy John's house to shoot and we had a blast shooting our 3 .22 Huben's, Cricket .25, Liberty .22 and my Veteran Long .22.
He mentioned that he didn't have any guns that liked the Hades so his dad tried them in the Liberty probably pushing 930 or so as it was set up with 18 gr at 900 +. Well it didn't like them shooting about a 2" group at 38 yards. For the heck of it I loaded up a mag and shot them through my Veteran which were probably close to 1000 fps. Holy cow. I shot a ten shot group all in one hole about 3/8". Of course my Veteran will shoot just about any pellet good as I also shot the 18's at probably 950 or more and they also shot good. But now that I set it up with the .25's I hate to change it back. One thing I noticed is that at 38 yards all three pellets shot basically to the same POI with their respective speeds. I think these Hades would be super explosive on sparrows and starlings at that speed. Just curious if anyone is shooting them that fast and how far out they remain accurate. I am only estimating the speed though as the 25 at 890 is what my gun chronies at so I guestimated the others.
also all three of our Huben's were shooting great with the 25 gr JSB with them set between 900-930 fps.. It was raining and we were sitting in his garage shooting at the target 38 yards away plus at various objects farther away at 60 70 yards etc. We took turns shooting a metal paddle about 2" dia at 60 yards as fast as we could pull the trigger. I think both of us had 18 out of 19 hits. It was hard to stay on target as we would start laughing.
great times with John and his dad
