Let me start by saying this may only be a local issue. Australian gun laws don’t allow sound moderation so the problem part could be just a different part used here. The only difference in the way it looks is where sound moderation is allowed it has a hole in it to vent air into the shroud
The problem is this part doesn’t screw all the way onto the smooth x barrel
So when you tighten your shroud you are in fact tensioning the liner locking nut. I have 3 of these that came with shrouds and 1 I ordered from fx as a single part to see if it was different. It wasn’t. If this part screwed all the way up and tightened against the outer barrel sleeve it would lock and prevent any movement of the nut/liner but it ‘floats’ on the tread. With the original piece and an air stripper accuracy was hopeless. The air stripper direct to the barrel was fine as the treads where deeper and it locked against the sleeve.
Most people aren’t going to see this part as it’s fixed in the shroud but if you do experience a shifting poi or your not totally happy with accuracy do try again without the shroud and see if it improves
