Smith &Wesson 78-79g

The S&W 78/79 is a beautiful pistol, I've been after one for years, Came across one here in the UK at a collectors airgun fayre but didn't have enough cash on me and had left my card in my other coat when i'd set off 



I had bought this Crosman model 2 a couple of stalls before (Bought all sorts in reality but the Crosman was the reason I didn't have enough!!)

It makes sense that it is bad to dry fire a springer. Does dry firing Co2 guns damage the poppet valve (or any other parts)?
