I personally believe that "springer rated" is just something they either say to sell scopes, or say no to, to prevent having to warranty a cheap broken scope.

Notice this question usually only comes up when talking about cheaper scopes of dubious quality.

A properly functioning springer of reasonable quality is really not that hard on scopes. At least in my experience.

Maybe look at a Burris Timberline 4.5-14x32AO Burris recommended for air rifles, or a Hawke 2-7x32AO, Airmax. Airmax has a good air rifle reticle for aim points. Upscale, US Optics TS-12x is short and light.

I researched the US Optics scope. It has a great deal of lateral fringing- purple and green, according to this review-

When I was looking at a scope for a new rifle, the TS 12X was a 42mm objective and better reviewed. I wound up getting a new Meopta. I read this scope was also sold as the Vector Veyron and Discovery VT3.

He had to be refering to the us optics scope. The "new" us optics is not the same company as the original based in California. Totally new company in NC that bought out the intellectual property and name of us optics several years ago. Everything new they have is branded chinese scopes. The old designs of the previous well liked US Optics scopes that they still make are now much less than they used to be in every way. Steer clear, unless you can get one of their old designs produced by the new company in NC for around 1k used in perfect shape, new at their asking price well over 2k on a higher end tactical scope you are wasting your money. Whereas an older California US Optics you'd still be paying nearly 2k or over for a used one, and probably worth it.

The RWS 350 eats scopes for breakfast. I am going to buy the "Diana sled" for mine, before trying any other scope on that platform.

On my FWB124 I had a Beeman Blue Ribbon R66 2-7x32 made by Hakko in Japan. Being stupid I sold the FWB124 but still have two of the R66. They are awesome vintage optics.
